Head lice and olive oil, a combination that you should try when it comes to get rid of the parasite. Today, using natural treatments is very common and for head lice you, olive oil is one natural way to remove such from your head.

You can begin with yourself and then work your way through each of your family members one by one. You will only get infested with head lice if the other members of your home do not ever experience some kinds of head lice treatments. You can start by:

1.Taking care of your bedding and sleepwear. Put those things in the dryer and let those fall over on high heat for about ten minutes. That will be just right to kill the eggs. However, if you do not have a dryer, you can wash it in a very hot water and hang till it dry.

2. Do not go using the best oil in the cupboard. The head lice are not that finicky and using extra virgin imported olive oil for head lice and olive oil treatment can be heavy to your pocket. You might want to use the smallest tooth comb that you have, however, if you don’t, you can use the fine end of your regular comb. You will also need a roll of paper towels, lavender or even tea tree oil and wipe it to your hair and leave it for about ten minutes.

3. In your shower or bathtub, get your hair wet and then mix it with at least ten drops of olive oil or even slather the oil on. The oil has to be plastered on your head and leave it on your hair for at least 15 minutes allowing the head lice to be suffocated. When 15 minutes is already done, comb your hair thoroughly and wipe the comb on the paper towels after each swipe. Possibly, there will be nits caught in the olive oil and rinse your hair thoroughly.

Olive oil as head lice treatment can be time consuming however, it is an effective way of getting rid of head lice. And olive oil is just around the corner of your kitchen.
