Head Lice Castor Oil Treatment

Put a generous amount of castor oil on the hair and cover it with a disposable shower cap. Leave it overnight. The next day, put shampoo on your hair before wetting your it. Wash thoroughly until the castor oil is gone. You may repeat the shampooing your hair if needed. Dry hair on a clean towel and comb hair carefully inspecting if there are any nits or lice left. Put on a hair conditioner. This method often works quite well to get rid of the head lice fast.

Head Lice Vaseline Treatment

Another way to get rid of head lice quickly is to use Vaseline on it. The procedure is basically the same as when you use Castor Oil. According to person who actually tried it on her kids, it worked such great wonders that she didn’t even have to use a fine-toothed comb. However, it may require several washes to get rid of Vaseline.

Head Lice Mayonnaise Treatment

One homemaker made use of mayonnaise to get rid of head lice quickly following the same steps as that on putting castor oil and Vaseline. It works just as well and easier to wash off.

Head Lice Vinegar Treatment

Another tip to get rid of head lice fast is to wash hair twice a day and rinse it with vinegar. The hair coated with vinegar makes the nits easy to remove. However, you still need to go inspect the hair to make sure there are no nits left. You can use a masking tape to stick the nits on it and dispose or burn immediately to prevent further infestations.

Head Lice Essential Oils Treatment

Another method to get rid of head lice fast is to soak your hair and body for a minimum of ten minutes in a pine oil bath. This should be done twice a day. Disgusting, yes! But some people really swear by this method.

Towel dry your hair and apply baby oil or any essential oil. The oil helps loosen the glued nits on the hair which makes it easier to remove when combed out. Leave the oil overnight, using a shower cap or draping a towel on top of your pillow. Wash your hair next morning with a a grease fighting dish washing liquid to get rid of the oil and afterward shampoo as you normally would.
